ITP holds road safety seminar at Imambargah ahead of Muharram

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Jun, 2026) Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) organized a seminar on traffic management and road safety at Imambargah Asna Ashari, G-6/2, to create awareness among organizers and volunteers ahead of Muharram-ul-Haram.

An official told APP on Sunday that the seminar was held on the directions of Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Muhammad Sarfraz Virk as part of efforts to ensure smooth traffic management during Muharram.

SP Traffic Majid Iqbal and officials of the ITP education Wing briefed the Imambargah administration and volunteers on traffic management plans, road safety measures and traffic laws to be observed during Muharram gatherings and processions.

Participants were also informed about their role in facilitating traffic flow and assisting road users during religious events.

A question-and-answer session was held during the seminar, where participants raised various queries regarding traffic arrangements and road safety. Prizes were distributed among participants who gave correct answers.

At the conclusion of the event, SP Traffic Majid Iqbal presented a commemorative shield to the Imambargah administration in recognition of their cooperation.

The official said the administration and volunteers appreciated Islamabad Traffic Police for organizing the awareness session and lauded its efforts to promote road safety and effective traffic management during Muharram-ul-Haram.
