ITP issues key advisory as diversions planned on Srinagar, Express highways

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Apr, 2026) Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) issued an important traffic advisory, announcing diversions on Srinagar Highway and Islamabad Expressway in connection with the movement of foreign delegations.

An ITP official told APP on Friday that citizens were advised to avoid unnecessary travel during this period except in case of emergency. He said commuters should use alternate routes during the diversions to avoid inconvenience.

The official said entry into the Red Zone would remain strictly restricted for all types of traffic except official vehicles.

He urged citizens to completely avoid traveling towards the Red Zone during this time. He said security across the city had been put on high alert, with strict checking being carried out at entry and exit points.

The official appealed to citizens to cooperate with law enforcement agencies to ensure smooth implementation of security arrangements. He added that traffic updates would be shared through Islamabad Traffic Police’s WhatsApp channel, social media platforms, and ITP FM 92.4 for public guidance.
