ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Jul, 2026) Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) issued a traffic advisory for commuters in view of the movement of foreign delegations, announcing temporary diversions on major roads and urging citizens to use alternate routes and leave 20 to 25 minutes earlier to avoid delays.
An ITP official told APP on Tuesday that temporary traffic diversions would be imposed at different times on Express Highway, Srinagar Highway, Jinnah Avenue, Murree Road and Club Road to ensure the smooth and secure movement of foreign delegations.
The official said traffic police personnel would remain deployed across the city to facilitate commuters and regulate traffic flow.
Route 1: Srinagar Highway
Diversion:
Serena Chowk to 26 Number Chungi (at different times)
Alternate Routes:
Iran Avenue
Margalla Road
Jinnah Avenue
Route 2: Faisal Avenue – Express Highway
Diversion:
Khayaban Chowk to Rawat T-Cross (Express Highway)
Alternate Routes:
Jinnah Avenue
9th Avenue
For commuters coming from Koral:
Old Airport Road
Rawal Road
Rawalpindi Murree Road
9th Avenue
Route 3: Koral – Express Highway, Murree Road, Club Road

The official said traffic volume on major arteries was expected to increase during the diversion period and advised commuters to leave 20 to 25 minutes earlier than their usual travel time.
