MIRPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Feb, 2026) In a significant humanitarian gesture, District and Sessions Judge Mirpur, Jahangir Ahmed Jaral, ordered the release of four inmates involved in minor offences during his official visit to Central Jail Mirpur on Monday. Acting on judicial directives, the prisoners were freed on surety bonds of Rs20,000 each, reflecting a compassionate yet lawful approach toward minor cases, officials confirmed.

According to jail authorities, the release was executed promptly under the supervision of Jail Superintendent Khawaja Sanaullah Dar. The freed individuals — Saghir Ahmed son of Kashif, Muhammad Naseer son of Muhammad Latif, Rizwan son of Muhammad Ashfaq, and Syed Matlub Shah son of Azam Shah — had been convicted under Sections 107/151 pertaining to minor breaches of peace.

Officials stated that the visiting judge reviewed the cases carefully before granting relief, underscoring the judiciary’s commitment to ensuring justice alongside reformative measures. The initiative, they added, highlights the importance of periodic prison inspections aimed at safeguarding inmates’ rights and expediting relief in deserving cases.

In a statement later issued by PID AJK, the released prisoners expressed heartfelt gratitude to the District and Sessions Judge for his considerate order and offered prayers for his well-being, marking an emotional conclusion to what authorities described as a constructive judicial intervention.
