Jamshoro police seize huge consignment of mainpuri raw materials

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Apr, 2026) The Jamshoro district police have foiled smuggling of a huge consignment of raw materials of mainpuri which were being transported from Karachi to Shaheed Benazirabad.

The Station House Officer of Aamri police station, Inspector Muhammad Suleman Lashari informed here on Sunday that a truck carrying hundreds of bags of raw materials was seized on the Indus Highway after the police received a tip-off about movement of such a vehicle.

He added that the vehicle bearing registration number NAD-614 was stopped on the highway and upon checking 400 huge plastic bags filled with raw materials were found.

According to him, the police also rounded up two persons who were travelling in that vehicle besides impounding the truck as well.

He identified the suspects as Muhammad Qasim Brohi and Adam Khan Brohi who were also booked in an First Information Report lodged under the Sindh Prohibition of Preparation, Manufacturing, Storage, Sale and Use of Gutka and Mainpuri Act, 2023.

The case was registered at Aamri police station on the state's complaint. Senior Superintendent of Police Jamshoro Zafar Siddique Changa congratulated the police team for the raid and recovery.
