Joint mock excercise held to tackle possible monsoon rains

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th May, 2026) The district administration Lakki Marwat and Rescue 1122 held a joint mock exercise to prepare for possible emergencies, particularly monsoon rains and flood-related situations here on Wednesday.

The exercise was organized in line with the directives of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial government and was supervised by District Emergency Officer Rescue 1122 Lakki Marwat, Bilal Afridi.

The Primary objective of the drill was to strengthen coordination among relevant departments and improve emergency response capabilities in dealing with natural disasters, flash floods, and other emergency situations during the monsoon season.

Officials and personnel from the district administration, Health Department, Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA), Civil Defence, Irrigation Department, and other relevant institutions actively participated in the exercise.

During the mock drill, Rescue 1122 personnel demonstrated professional rescue techniques, including water rescue operations for drowning victims, provision of first aid to injured persons, safe evacuation of citizens from affected areas, and timely emergency response procedures.

Speaking on the occasion, District Emergency Officer Bilal Afridi said that Rescue 1122 was a modern and fully prepared emergency service capable of responding to all types of emergencies.

He added that the protection of public life and property remains the department’s top priority and that effective coordination among all relevant institutions is essential for handling any unforeseen situation efficiently.

He also urged citizens to adopt precautionary measures during the monsoon season and immediately contact Rescue 1122 in case of any emergency.
