Dera Ismail Khan, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Apr, 2026) Paharpur Tehsil administration, in collaboration with the Regional Transport Authority (RTA), carried out a joint operation against overcharging by transporters at the Paharpur bus stand.

The action was conducted under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner Paharpur Dr Hamid, with the participation of the Tehsildar Paharpur and the Secretary RTA.

During the operation, officials reviewed fare structures in consultation with drivers, taking into account recent fluctuations in fares and the impact of rising petroleum prices.

A revised fare schedule for three routes was proposed and approved on the spot by the Secretary RTA, who also issued formal directives for its immediate implementation.

Additionally, TMA staff have been deployed at the bus stand to monitor fare compliance. Passengers have been encouraged to lodge complaints in case of overcharging, with authorities assuring prompt refunds and strict legal action against violators.

The administration reaffirmed its commitment to protecting commuters from exploitation and ensuring adherence to officially notified transport fares.
