Journalists urge restoration of Railway ticket concession, PR CEO assures action

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Apr, 2026) Senior railway beat reporters met Chief Executive Officer Railways Amir Ali Baloch in his office to discuss the recent reduction in ticket concessions for the journalistic community.

During the meeting, the reporters expressed concerns over the decrease in concessions and demanded restoration of the facility to its previous level. They also presented detailed data, rejecting the impression that concessions for journalists negatively impact railway revenue.

Amir Ali Baloch stated that the decision to reduce or grant concessions was made in accordance with the Ministry of Railways' policy.

However, he assured the delegation of his support on the issue and said the matter would be taken up for resolution.

He further assured that the issue would soon be presented before the Ministry of Railways with complete data and efforts would be made to resolve it at the earliest.

The meeting was attended by Asif Masood, Sabir Awan (President PUJ Punjab), Sohaib Khalid, Safdar Rashid, Rana Fahad, Saeed Ahmed, Ghulam Abbas Tipu, Zaheer Ahmed and others.
