LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Apr, 2026) Justice Asjad Javaid Ghural of the Lahore High Court retired from his office on Wednesday, after reaching the age of superannuation, set at 62 years for an LHC judge.
A simple yet dignified farewell ceremony was held at the court’s principal seat in his honour. Chief Justice Aalia Neelum attended the ceremony and presented a bouquet to the retiring judge as a gesture of respect.
The ceremony was also attended by senior puisne judge Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh, along with Justice Syed Shahbaz Ali Rizvi, Justice Faisal Zaman Khan, and Justice Shahid Karim, as well as other judges serving at the principal seat.
Participants paid tribute to Justice Ghural’s services to the judiciary and extended their best wishes for his future.
With Justice Ghural’s retirement, the number of serving judges at the LHC has now decreased to 40.
