Kaghan Valley to be developed into modern tourist hub: DG KDA

NARAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Apr, 2026) The Director General of the Kaghan Development Authority (KDA), Rahmat Ali, held a series of open forums at major tourist destinations including Shogran, Kaghan, and Naran to address issues related to the tourism sector.

The sessions were attended by a large number of participants, including local public representatives, hotel owners, members of hotel associations, representatives of local organizations, and the general public.

Speaking on the occasion, Rahmat Ali engaged in detailed discussions on key challenges facing tourism in the region. He listened to the concerns, questions, and suggestions of participants and assured them that effective steps were being taken to resolve the issues confronting the sector.

He also highlighted ongoing and proposed initiatives aimed at boosting tourism in Kaghan Valley. Discussions focused on the promotion of eco-tourism and adventure tourism, master planning of Kaghan, Naran, and Battakundi, as well as the identification of new tourist destinations.

Officials from various departments, including Health, National Highway Authority (NHA), Forest, and Fisheries, were also present during the open forum held in Naran.

The Director General emphasized that all available resources were being utilized to transform Kaghan Valley into a modern and sustainable tourist hub, noting that the role of the local community is vital in this effort. He added that work on the master plans for Naran and Battakundi is progressing rapidly, incorporating modern requirements and future needs to ensure sustainable tourism development.

He further stated that efforts would be made at higher levels to improve healthcare facilities in the valley. Responding to a query, he said that building plans meeting legal requirements would be approved, while illegal constructions without proper authorization would not be permitted.
