LAHORE: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-May 3rd, 2026) Pakistan Super League Season 11 Final is set to take place on Sunday night at Gaddafi Stadium, where Marnus Labuschagne’s Hyderabad Kingsmen will face Babar Azam’s Peshawar Zalmi in the title clash, bringing the 44-match tournament to a close.

In a first for the league, the Pakistan Super League has introduced additional financial incentives for franchises.

The champions will receive $500,000, while the runners-up will be awarded $300,000.

A separate prize of $200,000 has also been allocated for the team demonstrating the best player development programme.

Players of the title-winning side will collectively earn $500,000.

Hyderabad Kingsmen are aiming to cap off a remarkable turnaround season with the championship, while Peshawar Zalmi are targeting their second PSL title, having previously won in 2017 and finished runners-up on multiple occasions.

Zalmi have enjoyed a dominant campaign, winning eight of their 10 league-stage matches, including a seven-game winning streak. Their success has been driven by standout performances from Babar Azam, who amassed 588 runs, Kusal Mendis with 541 runs, and Sufyan Muqeem, who claimed 21 wickets. They secured their place in the final with a convincing 70-run victory over Islamabad United in the Qualifier.

Fast bowler Nahid Rana has also rejoined the Zalmi squad and is available for selection after taking seven wickets in four league matches.

Hyderabad Kingsmen, on the other hand, endured a difficult start to their campaign, losing their first four matches, including a narrow defeat to Peshawar Zalmi in a last-ball encounter.

However, they staged a strong comeback by winning four consecutive matches to stay in contention.

A dominant 108-run victory over Rawalpindi in their final league fixture helped them edge past defending champions Lahore Qalandars on net run rate. Kingsmen then eliminated Multan Sultans in Eliminator 1 and pulled off a dramatic two-run win against Islamabad United in Eliminator 2 to book their spot in the final.

Speaking ahead of the match, Babar Azam said his team’s success had been built on consistent execution of plans and adaptability to conditions.

He added that both local and overseas players had contributed significantly, expressing confidence in delivering a strong performance in the final.

Labuschagne also reflected on his experience as captain, describing the journey as exciting despite its challenges. He said the team remains focused on maintaining its approach and treating the final like any other match.
