KOHAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Mar, 2026) Acting on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Kohat, Muhammad Nawaz, the district administration firmly intensified its crackdown on overpricing and fuel irregularities on Wednesday. Moreover, Additional Assistant Commissioner Gambat, Syed Mukhtiar Shah, thoroughly inspected multiple filling stations along the Gambat–Pindi Road, reviewing the availability and sale of petrol and diesel. The inspection revealed a reassuring situation, as all pumps were selling fuel at officially notified rates with notably no shortages reported.
Meanwhile, in a separate and targeted operation, the Additional Assistant Commissioner visited Gambat Bazaar to assess compliance with official price lists and hygiene standards. A wide range of outlets, including sweet shops, butchers, chicken sellers, and vegetable vendors, were carefully examined.
One butcher’s shop was sealed over violations, while several shopkeepers were fined, highlighting a strict enforcement drive against non-compliance.
Furthermore, Assistant Commissioner Kohat, Madam Nida Iqbal, actively conducted inspections under the price control mechanism to ensure the sale of essential commodities at government-approved rates. Shopkeepers were clearly directed to prominently display official price lists and adhere to them, reinforcing a transparent and accountable marketplace for consumers.
The district administration has consistently reaffirmed its commitment to daily actions against profiteering and encroachments. Officials emphasized that such decisive measures aim to guarantee a clean, orderly, and consumer-friendly environment, ensuring that citizens have uninterrupted access to essential commodities at fair prices.
