KP authorities advise public to take precautions amid intense heatwave

KOHAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Jun, 2026) Authorities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have issued a public advisory urging residents to take precautionary measures as extreme temperatures continue to grip various parts of the province.

According to the advisory, citizens have been encouraged to stay well-hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and minimize outdoor activities during the hottest hours of the day. Officials stressed the importance of adopting preventive measures to protect against heat-related illnesses.

Residents have also been advised to carry drinking water while travelling, wear light-colored and loose-fitting clothing, and use umbrellas, caps or hats when venturing outdoors.

The guidance further recommends avoiding unnecessary travel and strenuous physical activity during peak daytime temperatures.

Authorities emphasized that there is no need for panic, urging the public instead to remain vigilant and follow safety guidelines. The awareness campaign concluded with a reminder for citizens to drink plenty of water and take collective responsibility for protecting their health during the ongoing heatwave.
