KP CM expresses grief over loss of lives in Haripur gas pipeline blast

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Apr, 2026) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi on Friday expressed profound grief over the tragic gas pipeline explosion near Hattar Industrial Estate in Haripur, which resulted in the death of eight individuals, including women and children.

According to a spokesperson of the Chief Minister House, the explosion triggered a massive fire, prompting immediate response from Rescue 1122 and other relevant authorities, who successfully brought the blaze under control.

The CM termed the loss of precious lives as deeply heartbreaking and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.

He assured that the provincial government shares the grief of the affected families and would stand by them in this difficult time.

Afridi further directed that the injured be provided the best possible medical treatment, adding that no effort would be spared in ensuring their recovery.

Meanwhile, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Information Shafi Jan also expressed deep sorrow over the incident.

He said that rescue personnel from Haripur and nearby districts actively participated in relief operations, while the injured were shifted to hospitals for treatment.

Shafi Jan reiterated that the provincial government would not leave the affected families alone and prayed for the eternal peace of the deceased and speedy recovery of the injured.
