KP CM pledges rights protection, educational advancement of laborers on International Workers' Day

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st May, 2026) On occasion of International Workers' Day, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Muhammad Sohail Afridi emphasized indispensable role laborers play in region's development. He remarked that dream of national progress and prosperity remains unattainable without effectively protecting dignity and fundamental rights of working class.

In a statement issued here Friday, KP CM said that this day serves as a reminder of greatness and struggle of those who silently strengthen country's economy through their tireless efforts.

KP CM said tha hard work of laborers lies behind every constructed building, every laid road, and every functioning institution. He formally acknowledged immense sacrifices rendered by workforce in laying foundation of country's development.

He said that provincial government has implemented several welfare initiatives, including significant educational scholarships for children of working class. Additionally, parents of students enrolled in Workers Welfare board schools now receive financial assistance to cover costs of transport, uniforms, and books.

Looking toward future, Chief Minister said that under Khushal Pakhtunkhwa program, children of workers are being empowered with access to advanced courses, such as Artificial Intelligence and Chinese language studies.

Concluding his tribute, Sohail Afridi recognized every worker in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as true identity and most valuable asset of region, honoring their contribution to the province's growth.
