PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Mar, 2026) Following directives from Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department has placed all public and private hospitals on alert to handle potential emergencies during Eid-ul-Fitr.
According to an official notification, hospitals are instructed to ensure uninterrupted 24/7 emergency services. Doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff are required to be present as per duty rosters, which will be strictly enforced.
No officer is allowed to leave their duty station without prior approval, and ambulance and referral services will remain fully operational.
The notification also directed that medicines, oxygen, blood, and other essential medical supplies be available in adequate quantities.
Special arrangements and contingency plans have been put in place to respond effectively to accidents or emergencies.
Emergency services in tourist and transit areas including Galiyat, Swat, Malakand, and Abbottabad have been strengthened.
The Director General Health Services has established an emergency control room to ensure 24-hour monitoring and coordination.
Health facilities will be continuously supervised through the Incident Management Unit (IMU), tracking staff attendance and service delivery. Digital monitoring and real-time reporting will enable immediate corrective action when needed.
Field officers will conduct on-site visits and, where possible, virtual monitoring to maintain oversight.
Dedicated helplines for public assistance have been activated and prominently advertised. The notification emphasized that strict action will be taken against any official failing to comply with these instructions.
