KP Relief Secretary suspends two PDMA officials during inspection

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Jun, 2026) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Secretary for Relief, Rehabilitation, and Resettlement Sohail Khan visited Provincial Emergency Operation Center (PEOC) of Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) on Thursday to review administrative and operational matters.

During the inspection, two officials were suspended for breach of discipline and unauthorized absence. Secretary also expressed strong displeasure with PEOC in-charge for overall negligence regarding staff attendance and administrative management.

To streamline future operations, he directed Director General PDMA to make Disaster Management Information System fully functional and ordered weekly performance review meetings.

He also emphasized importance of ensuring timely data entry across all District Emergency Operation Centers.

He concluded by reaffirming that accountability, internal coordination, and information systems would be further strengthened to ensure effective emergency responses across province.
