KPEZDMC secures global PepsiCo investment at Hattar

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Apr, 2026) The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development and Management Company (KPEZDMC) and PepsiCo International (Pvt.) Ltd. signed an agreement for the acquisition of 13.04 acres of land at the Hattar Economic Zone on Monday.

The deal paves the way for PepsiCo to strengthen its concentrate plant operations.

The investment of approximately PKR 700 million will support the expansion of one of only eight such PepsiCo concentrate facilities globally.

The Hattar Economic Zone offers direct access to the Federal capital, Islamabad, along with seamless connectivity via the Hazara Motorway.

This positions it as a strategic logistics hub within regional and international supply chains.

“Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is open for business, and agreements like this prove it,” said Shaharyar Gul, Chief Executive Officer of KPEZDMC.

“When a global brand of PepsiCo’s scale chooses to locate a facility here, one of only eight worldwide, it reinforces investor confidence in the province’s investment potential.”

Mr. Amjad Saleem, General Manager of PepsiCo said, “Hattar was not just a practical choice, it was the right one. The speed at which KPEZDMC moved, and the quality of engagement throughout made a genuine difference to our planning timeline.

We are building here because we intend to grow here.”

The initiative will generate direct employment opportunities while creating a substantial number of indirect jobs, contributing meaningfully to the province’s economic development.
