Larkana to get a 600 bed hospital

LARKANA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Apr, 2026) Provincial Health Minister Dr. Azra Fazal held an online meeting regarding the construction of a 600-bed hospital in Larkana on Friday, aimed at providing high-quality medical facilities to the region.

Chairman P&D Najam Shah informed that the project, titled "Construction of 600-Bed Hospital in Larkana (Phase-1)", has already been approved by the Provincial Development and Working Party (PDWP) and the Chief Minister of Sindh.

The Finance Secretary reported that the project, with an estimated cost of approximately Rs. 9,928 million, is expected to be completed within two years. The Health Secretary briefed that a steering committee, headed by former Vice Chancellor Dow University Dr.

Saeed, has been notified, and a Project Director has been appointed to ensure smooth implementation within the stipulated timeline.

It was also stated that the project site has been cleared, and soil testing has been completed, which indicates the need for extensive piling. The contract has been awarded to Paragon Constructors (Private) Limited, and the Deputy Commissioner of Larkana is in the process of acquiring land for a batching plant and labor accommodation. The DC Larkana has proposed a site on the STEVTA College plot for this purpose.

The hospital is expected to be a significant addition to Larkana’s healthcare infrastructure, providing quality medical services to the people of the region.
