HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th May, 2026) Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, Jamshoro, has advised the people to avoid going out in the open between 11 am to 4 pm in view of the prevailing heat wave situation.

Chairman Medicine Faculty of LUMHS Dr Santosh Kumar in a statement issued here on Friday urged the people to bring some lifestyle changes to prevent the harsh summer from affecting their health.

According to him, those changes range from their diet to clothes which the people wear.

He cautioned that heat stroke was a serious health condition which could render irreparable health loss and even death.

He explained that the heart, brain and kidney could fail if people remain exposed to hot weather for a longer time.

Dr Kumar said heat stroke's symptoms include fever, nausea, headache, dizziness and even unconsciousness.

He advised the people to avoid taking tea and coffee and instead prefer cold beverages besides taking a great deal of water.

He said ORS was also helpful in maintaining the body's minerals which were lost through excessive perspiration.
