Livestock Vaccination Drive Kicks Off in Sukkur

SUKKUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Apr, 2026) The District Administration and the Livestock Department Sukkur on Wednesday have launched a Pre Rain Flood Mass Vaccination Campaign 2026, which will continue from April 1 to April 30 across the district.

The campaign was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner (DC), Nadir Shehzad Khan in the village of Nihal Khan Khoso. While addressing the ceremony, the Deputy Commissioner said that in view of the upcoming monsoon rains and possible floods, the Livestock Department Sukkur should ensure the effective implementation of this campaign in line with the directives of the Government of Sindh and the Provincial Minister for Livestock.

He appealed to all livestock farmers to take full advantage of this free vaccination campaign and get their animals vaccinated to protect them from seasonal diseases.

The event was attended by Assistant Commissioner New Sukkur Bushra Mansoor, Additional Director Dr. Attaullah Dalit, Deputy Director Dr. Pir Bakhsh Laghari, District Focal Person Dr. Rafiq Ahmed Gulal, Dr.

Muhammad Nawaz Ajan, Union Council Chairman Sufraz Ahmed Khoso, Vice Chairman Umeed Ali Khoso, and members of the Livestock Department’s technical team.

During the briefing, Deputy Director Dr. Pir Bakhsh Laghari and District Focal Person Dr. Rafiq Ahmed Gulal informed that the campaign will continue from April 1 to April 30 in all four tehsils of the district. Teams have been formed at the Union Council level, consisting of veterinarians and vaccination staff who will administer vaccines to livestock.

Approximately 1.2 million animals in the district will be vaccinated during this campaign.

They further explained that before the monsoon season and possible flooding, there is a risk of several diseases.

Therefore, this campaign has been initiated by the Sindh Livestock Department as a preventive measure.

They also urged all livestock farmers to cooperate with the departmental teams at the Union Council level and ensure vaccination of their animals to protect them from deadly diseases.
