KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Mar, 2026) Pakistan Association Kansai, in collaboration with Pakistan Japan Cultural Association and Sindh Sport and Youth Affairs Department, will organize the world's first Malakhra versus Sumo (Wrestling) in the Pakistan-Osaka Culture Festival-2026 at Sakai city of Osaka in Japan on Saturday (March 28, 2026) in which prominent Malh Pehalwan from Sindh to participate.
According to the 1st vice president of Pakistan-Japan Cultural Association, Mohammad Azmat Shingeyuki Ataka, Malakhro of Sindh, Pakistan and Sumo of Japan come together to celebrate two of the world's most ancient indigenous wrestling traditions in Sakai city of Osaka, Japan on Saturday (March 28).
He said this gathering reflects the vision of the Pakistan-Japan Cultural Association to strengthen friendship between Pakistan and Japan through cutlture, traditional sports and shared heritage.
He said the event provides a valuable platform to showcase Pakistan's historic Malakhra and Japan's revered Sumo, both symbolizing strength, honour and tradition.
Ataka said such exchanges promote cultural understanding and lasting people-to-people connections. He also expressed hope that the initiative will continue to grow and further strengthen the friendship between two countries.
In Malakhra competition, prominent Malh Pehalwan from Sindh province will participate in the Festival along with group leader Professor Saeed Ahmed Mangi, team leader Qurban Ali Mangi and Champion-Referee Muharam Ali Majeedano.
