Malik commends Pakistan for holding peace talks

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Apr, 2026) SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry, former president Iftikhar Ali Malik has commended Pakistan's sincere efforts for arranging peace talks between US and Iran to ensure sustainable solutions to ongoing conflicts.

In a media statement issued here Sunday, he said for the first time in history, diplomatic efforts of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharef and Field Marshal Asim Munir have received widespread global recognition for their constructive role in helping defuse tensions between two countries.

Pakistan, through proactive engagement and sincere dialogue, has demonstrated its commitment to regional and international peace bringing either sides on dialogue table, he added,

Malik said, Pakistan’s leadership has effectively utilized diplomatic channels to encourage restraint and promote negotiations among conflicting parties.

He was of the view that such efforts have not only enhanced Pakistan’s global image but also reinforced its position as a responsible and peace-loving nation.

Pakistan balanced foreign policy and consistent advocacy for dialogue over confrontation have been appreciated by the international community especially in the wake of middle East tension.

He said Pakistan’s initiatives have contributed to reducing the risk of escalation in a highly volatile region, paving the way for meaningful discussions and long-term stability.
