Man drowns while fishing near Head Panjnad

MUZAFFARGARH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th May, 2026) A 27-year-old man drowned in a river while bathing during a fishing trip near Head Panjnad on Karachi Road in Alipur tehsil of district Muzaffargarh.

According to Rescue 1122 sources, the incident occurred when the young man, identified as Muhammad Usama, a resident of Jalalpur Pirwala, went into the river during a fishing activity and suddenly drowned.

Rescue 1122 emergency teams present at the site immediately launched a search operation.

The Rescue Water Search Team conducted a line search operation and successfully traced the victim in the river.

The Rescue 1122 Alipur team retrieved the man from the water and shifted him to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Alipur after administering CPR on the spot in an effort to save his life.

However, doctors at the hospital confirmed his death after medical examination. Following legal procedure, the body was handed over to the heirs.
