FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Apr, 2026) Special Court Central Faisalabad-Sargodha Division has sentenced a man to 19-year rigorous imprisonment (RI) along with a fine after convicting him in a high-profile visa fraud case involving Rs. 40 million.
According to the prosecution, Special Judge Central Shamshad Ali Rana announced the verdict in case No.70/24 registered under sections 109, 420, 468, 471 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and sections 6PA, 17, 18 and 22 of the Emigration Ordinance 1979 against accused Asad.
The accused had defrauded many victims by promising to send them to the United Kingdom on study visas and secure jobs for them.
Through this fraudulent scheme, he collected approximately Rs40 million from the victims.
After observing evidence and witnesses, the learned judge awarded total 19 years Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) to accused Asad and imposed a fine of Rs.1.3 million.
The court sentenced the convict to 5 years rigorous imprisonment with a fine of Rs300,000 under section 17 of the Emigration Ordinance 1979 while 14 years rigorous imprisonment with a fine of Rs1 million was awarded under section 22 of the same law.
Both sentences will run concurrently as the convict was granted benefit of section 382-B of Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC).
