Man held for impersonating police officer in Naseerabad crackdown

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd May, 2026) Police have arrested a man for allegedly impersonating a police officer during a crackdown in Naseerabad on Saturday.

According to a police spokesperson, the suspect was taken into custody after his suspicious activity raised concerns among officers on patrolling. He was reportedly dressed in a police uniform at the time of arrest.

During initial interrogation and search, police recovered a fake service card along with the uniform from his possession.

A case has been registered against the accused, and further investigation is underway to determine whether he was involved in any criminal activities while impersonating a police officer.

SP Potohar, Sardar Babar Mumtaz Khan commended police team for their swift action and stated that the suspect would be presented before the court with solid evidence, adding that strict legal action would be taken in accordance with the law. The arrest was made promptly to prevent misuse of authority and to maintain public safety, he added.
