CHINIOT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Feb, 2026) In line with Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision of a “Drug-Free Punjab,” Chiniot Police have intensified their district-wide crackdown against narcotics dealers. Acting on the directives of District Police Officer Dr. Naveed Atif, law enforcement agencies on Monday launched intelligence-based operations across multiple areas, resulting in the arrest of five alleged drug peddlers.
Police sources confirmed that more than six kilograms of hashish were recovered from the possession of the arrested suspects during targeted raids conducted in the jurisdictions of Lalian, Chenab Nagar, and Kandiwal police stations. Separate cases have been registered under relevant narcotics laws, and further investigations are currently underway to trace possible networks and supply chains.
District Police Officer Dr. Naveed Atif while exclusively talking to APP, stated that practical and decisive measures are being implemented across the district to protect the younger generation from the menace of drugs. He emphasized that the special anti-drug campaign would continue with full force, ensuring strict punishment for offenders alongside quality investigation of cases.
The DPO further underscored the importance of public cooperation in eradicating narcotics from society, urging citizens to share timely information with police to make the campaign more effective and sustainable.
