CHINIOT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Feb, 2026) Acting under the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the district administration in Chiniot has stepped up efforts to ensure maximum relief for citizens during the holy month of Ramadan. In this regard on Monday, a crucial meeting of price Control Magistrates was convened under the chairpersonship of Deputy Commissioner Chiniot Ayesha Rizwan to devise a comprehensive strategy for keeping essential commodity prices in check.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner General Wasiq Abbas Haral, Assistant Commissioners, PERA officials, and officers of other relevant departments. Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan directed that an indiscriminate crackdown be launched against profiteers and those violating officially notified rates, making it clear that no one would be allowed to exploit consumers during Ramadan.

She instructed Price Control Magistrates to significantly increase field inspections, ensure daily market visits, and thoroughly check rate lists to prevent overcharging. Emphasizing strict monitoring, the Deputy Commissioner called for continuous surveillance of markets to curb artificial inflation and hoarding.

Warning of stern action, she stated that violators would face heavy fines, sealing of shops, and registration of cases. The Deputy Commissioner reaffirmed that providing maximum relief to citizens during Ramadan remains the district administration’s top priority, and all available resources will be utilized to safeguard public interest.
