HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Feb, 2026) The Hyderabad Water and Sewerage Corporation (HW&SC) Mazdoor Union has urged the Mayor Kashif Ali Shoro to release unpaid salaries and pensions of 17 months of the corporation's employees and pensioners.
The union's General Secretary Insaf Ali Lashari here on Tuesday wrote a letter to the Mayor urging him to release the salaries and pensions in question because the staff and pensioners were finding it hard to make their both ends meet in prevailing inflation.
He pointed out that the holy month of Ramazan was about to start and which would be followed by Eid-ul-Fitr but the staff and the pensioners were neither able to buy food nor clothes for Eid.
Lashari reminded the Mayor that during the recent visit of Sindh Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah the plight of the HW&SC's unpaid employees and pensions was discussed in detail after which the minister assured of his cooperation to resolve the issue.
The union also urged the Mayor to consider another issue of regularization of the contractual and work charge staff for approval.
