Mbappé confirms full recovery, eyes FIFA World Cup 2026 preparations

FIFA World Cup 2026 will be jointly hosted by US, Canada and Mexico, with France

PARIS: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-March 24th, 2026) Kylian Mbappé has confirmed that he has fully recovered from injury and is aiming to participate in all remaining matches of the season as he builds up to the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026.

The Real Madrid striker said in an interview that his focus is on maintaining fitness and gaining match practice to ensure peak performance at the global tournament.

The 27-year-old had missed several matches earlier in the season due to a knee injury sustained last year but returned to action on Sunday, coming off the bench in the 64th minute during his team’s 3–2 victory over Atlético Madrid.

Mbappé has also been included in France’s squad for upcoming international friendlies against Brazil on March 26 and Colombia on March 29, both scheduled to be played in the United States as part of preparations for the 2026 World Cup.

Expressing confidence in his recovery, Mbappé said he has regained full fitness and is determined to replicate his performances from previous World Cups.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, with France placed in Group I alongside Norway, Senegal and the winner of an international playoff.
