PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Jun, 2026) A weekly meeting held here on Monday with Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shahab Ali Shah in the chair reviewed progress on Good Governance initiatives being implemented across the province.
Besides, the Additional Chief Secretary General and all Secretaries, Commissioners while Deputy Commissioners and other concerned officers attended the meeting online.
The meeting was informed that 79 beautification projects at the district level will be completed by June 30. In addition, 42 other innovative initiatives are also underway, and all district nerve centers will be completed by July 31, with 16 nerve centers already established. The establishment of nerve centers is aimed at making the communication and monitoring system at the district level more effective.
Various innovative initiatives have been identified at the district level across the province. These include a three-month e-commerce training program for youth empowerment in Bajaur, and the digitization of the District Record Room in Bajaur to improve efficiency and transparency. BannuZon.com has been launched in Bannu, a district digital platform connecting local entrepreneurs to national and international markets.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>The Umeed-e-Sehat telemedicine program has been started in Battagram, while a Community Flagpole Flood Warning System has been introduced in DI Khan, which will also function without a network during natural disasters.
Other initiatives include the Masjid Health Desk in District Mohmand, under which weekly check-up facilities are being provided in mosques to deliver medical services to local residents. In Charsadda, free screening, testing and treatment have been arranged for barbers and food handlers along with prevention of communicable diseases, and an eBay training program has also been started under Digital Youth Empowerment.
A NextGen and Smart Skills Youth Hub has been established in Shangla, where free IT and freelancing courses are being conducted.
The Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa stated that the best-performing initiatives among these will be expanded to other districts.
The meeting was further informed that appointment letters will be issued this week to Medical Officers, Dental Surgeons and Nurses being recruited on a contract basis to improve health facilities in the remote areas of the province. This step is an important move towards improvement in the health sector.
