Lodhran, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th May, 2026) The mega cleanliness operation launched across Lodhran district during Eid-ul-Adha
concluded successfully.
A closing ceremony of the Eid sanitation campaign, organized by the Suthra Punjab Agency (SPA), was held at a local hotel. Commissioner Amir Karim Khan, attended the event as the chief guest, while Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ashraf, Additional Deputy Commissioner General and Managing Director Suthra Punjab Agency Liaqat Ali Gilani, Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Muhammad Tayyab, assistant commissioners of all tehsils, representatives of private sanitation companies, sanitary workers and supervisory staff were also present.
During the ceremony, sanitary workers, supervisory staff and officials were lauded for their exceptional services during the Eid holidays.
Addressing the ceremony, Commissioner Amir Karim Khan said the Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s commitment of maintaining a “zero-waste” environment was fulfilled during Eid-ul-Adha. He paid tribute to sanitation workers for their dedication and hard work despite temperatures reaching 48 degrees Celsius.
Amir Karim Khan further stated that during his visits to various tehsils over the Eid holidays, he witnessed the best level of coordination in Lodhran and congratulated the sanitation staff for their outstanding performance.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ashraf said Suthra Punjab workers displayed remarkable commitment and worked as a united team, enabling the district administration to successfully achieve sanitation targets. He added that the results reflected the dedication of all departments involved in the operation.
Managing Director SPA Liaqat Ali Gilani revealed that more than 3,000 workers participated in the district-wide campaign, working round the clock for three consecutive days. He said thousands of tons of animal waste and offal were removed with an average response time of just 15 minutes, ensuring prompt disposal and maintaining cleanliness across the district.
Prominent trader leaders Malik Asghar, President of the Central Traders Association, and Sheikh Saifuddin Saifi also addressed the ceremony.
The event concluded with Commissioner Amir Karim Khan and Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ashraf sharing a meal with sanitation workers in recognition of their services during the Eid cleanliness campaign.
