The reaction comes amid widespread reports of heavy bombardment and significant casualties across Lebanon, prompting strong responses on social media.

Khalifa, who traces her roots to Lebanon, said she was left “heartbroken and shaken” after learning of the airstrikes on Beirut. In a video message shared online, she claimed that dozens of airstrikes were carried out within minutes, intensifying destruction in the capital.

She alleged that residential buildings, schools, healthcare facilities, displacement camps and even funeral gatherings were targeted in the strikes. Khalifa further criticized the situation by claiming that her tax contributions were indirectly funding the attacks, describing the developments as “one of the hardest things to witness.

”

In a separate post, she stated that the hospital where she was born had been destroyed in the bombardment.

According to circulating reports, more than 250 people were killed and over 1,100 injured in a single day, making it one of the deadliest incidents in Lebanon following a ceasefire agreement involving United States and Iran. Officials have indicated, however, that Lebanon was not included in the ceasefire arrangement.

Khalifa’s remarks drew mixed reactions online, with some users expressing sympathy over the reported loss of life and destruction, while others offered differing perspectives on the situation.
