Minister chairs Punjab Spatial Planning Authority meeting

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Apr, 2026) Minister for Local Government Zeeshan Rafique chaired a meeting of Punjab Spatial Planning Authority (PSPA) held at the Civil Secretariat on Friday.

Secretary Local Government Shakeel Ahmed Mian and Director General PSPA Abdullah Nayyar also attended.

During the meeting, the administrative affairs and future goals of the Special Planning Authority were discussed.

Minister for Local Government Zeeshan Rafique, while addressing the participants of the meeting, said that the establishment of the Spatial Planning Authority is the result of the systematic planning vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

He said that PSPA is also assisting in the Model Village and Punjab Development Program. "I am happy that due to the master planning under the supervision of PSPA, a reliable database has been prepared", he observed. Zeeshan Rafique said that steps are being taken to activate the Violation Detection System, which will enable effective monitoring across the province. "Land zoning will pave the way for the settlement of new planned cities and discourage construction without planning", he hoped.
