Minister launches Rs60m Chorlaki-Bandki road project in Kohat

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Apr, 2026) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Aftab Alam has formally inaugurated the Rs60 million Chorlaki-Bandki blacktop road project in Kohat, aimed at improving transport infrastructure and connectivity in underdeveloped areas.

The project, funded through development allocations by Law Minister Aftab Alam and Member of the National Assembly Shehryar Afridi was launched alongside former Gumbat Chairman Sajid Iqbal. Local elders, political and social figures, officials from the construction department and contractors attended the inauguration ceremony.

Speakers at the event described the road scheme as a long-standing demand of the local population saying the project would significantly improve travel facilities, strengthen regional connectivity and enhance access to essential services.

Addressing the gathering, Aftab Alam said the provincial government was prioritizing public welfare projects and utilizing all available resources to accelerate development in backward regions. He assured residents that the road would be completed within the stipulated time frame and according to quality construction standards. He added that the Chorlaki-Bandki road would not only ease transportation challenges but also promote trade activity, improve economic opportunities and facilitate better public access to key services.

Community leaders and public representatives welcomed the initiative calling it a major milestone for regional development and expressing the hope that it would pave the way for further infrastructure projects in the area.
