Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs organizes special ceremony to celebrate 75 years of Pakistan-China friendship

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st May, 2026) A special ceremony was organised by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs to celebrate the completion of 75 years of Pakistan-China friendship here on Thursday.

Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, along with senior officials of the ministry, attended the event.

The Federal minister hoisted the national flag and planted a sapling as a commemorative gesture, while personnel of the Islamabad Police presented a salute during the flag-hoisting ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry described Pakistan-China friendship as unparalleled, saying China had always stood by Pakistan during difficult times.

He said Pakistan remained committed to further expanding trade and economic ties with China, adding that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir were playing a historic role in strengthening bilateral relations.

The minister termed China a sincere and reliable friend of Pakistan and said Pakistan-China economic cooperation was playing a vital role in regional development.

He added that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was a shining example of the strong ties between the two countries.

Dr. Tariq Fazal said relations between Pakistan and China were opening new avenues for economic growth and were based on mutual respect and trust.

He reaffirmed that both countries would continue enhancing cooperation in all sectors.

He further said Pakistan-China friendship was a guarantee of regional peace and stability, adding that China’s development also carried a message of prosperity for Pakistan.

The ceremony concluded with participants chanting slogans in support of the enduring Pakistan-China friendship.
