Missing cop found dead in Hangu

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Jun, 2026) A missing police official was found dead in Karbogha Sharif area within the limits of Doaba in Hangu district on Sunday.

According to police, the deceased identified as Sher Nawaz was an officer of the Orakzai Police, who had been missing since June 1.

SHO Niaz Khattak stated that the cop was deployed at a police checkpoint in Buland Khel.

Following his disappearance, police had launched search operations to locate him.

After the body was recovered, it was taken into police custody and shifted to a hospital for a post-mortem examination. Police have initiated a comprehensive investigation into the incident saying that the post-mortem report and preliminary evidence will help determine whether the case involves murder or another type of incident.

The discovery of the cop's body has raised security concerns in the area and senior officials have ordered a full inquiry into the matter.
