ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th May, 2026) Mohsin Naqvi paid a surprise visit to the Islamabad International Airport on Thursday to review immigration procedures for Hajj pilgrims and other departing passengers.
During the visit, the Interior Minister inspected the dedicated counters set up for Saudi immigration under the “Road to Makkah” initiative.
He interacted with the staff and examined the arrangements aimed at providing faster and smoother processing for Pakistani pilgrims.
Pilgrims expressed satisfaction with the facilities, saying the process was “extremely easy” and that they faced “no difficulties at all.” Several passengers also thanked Mohsin Naqvi for ensuring efficient services at the airport.
Passengers arriving from international flights also noted that all immigration counters were fully functional and processing was carried out without delay.
Mohsin Naqvi spoke to travelers about their experience regarding immigration and other services, receiving positive feedback. He reiterated that providing hassle-free facilities to passengers is a top priority.
The Minister also inspected the Joint Search Check Post and directed authorities to further improve and speed up the search system. He emphasized that security arrangements are being upgraded using modern technology.
He instructed all relevant departments to work in coordination to ensure both passenger convenience and robust security.
Senior officials, including the Director General of the FIA, Dr. Usman Anwar, and FIA Islamabad Zone Director Shehzad Bukhari, were also present during the visit.
