Mohsin Naqvi, Sarfraz Bugti chair meeting on Quetta train blast

QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th May, 2026) A high-level meeting was held in Quetta on Sunday under the chairmanship of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Balochistan Chief Minister (CM) Mir Sarfraz Bugti to review the situation following the terrorist attack near Chaman Phatak.

Inspector General of Balochistan Police, Muhammad Tahir Khan, presented the initial report of the blast and briefed participants on the progress of investigations. Senior officials from law enforcement agencies also attended the meeting.

The meeting strongly condemned the cowardly attack targeting innocent civilians, including women and children, and expressed heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyrs.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi assured that the Federal government stands firmly with the people of Balochistan in this time of grief. He said that the ruthless terrorists had displayed extreme brutality by targeting innocent lives, adding that the sacrifices of martyrs will always be remembered.

Mohsin Naqvi reaffirmed that all possible measures will continue to be taken to eradicate the menace of terrorism.

CM Sarfraz Bugti thanked the Interior Minister for his support, noting that he has always stood by Balochistan in difficult times. Sarfraz Bugti said that the province is indebted to the blood of martyrs and their sacrifices will not be allowed to go in vain. He vowed that “terrorists backed by hostile elements will be brought to their logical end” and that operations against anti-state actors will be intensified with greater force.

Sarfraz Bugti further emphasized that the families of martyrs will not be left alone and the government will provide assistance at every level. He confirmed that he is personally supervising the medical treatment of the injured and has directed all relevant institutions to ensure the best possible healthcare facilities.
