Multiple illegal clinics sealed in Murree during anti-Quackery Operation

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Jun, 2026) On the special directions of Deputy Commissioner Murree Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi and Chief Executive Officer Health Murree Dr. Azhar Abbasi, a large-scale crackdown against quackery is underway across the tehsil.

According to an official, a targeted operation was conducted under the supervision of Deputy District Health Officer Murree Dr. Maryam Ali Abbasi in various areas, resulting in the sealing of multiple illegal clinics and quack medical centres.

Health department teams carried out inspections in areas including Ghora Gali, Mullah Bazaar, Kunda Bazaar, Manga, and Jhika Gali, where several unlicensed establishments were found providing medical services without proper authorization.

During the operation, the illegal clinics were immediately sealed, while challans against the responsible individuals have been forwarded to the Punjab Healthcare Commission for further legal action.

Official said surveillance against quackery has been intensified across the district to ensure the provision of quality healthcare services to the public.

He warned that unqualified and unregistered individuals offering medical treatment not only violate the law but also pose a serious risk to human lives.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Maryam Ali Abbasi stated that quackery is a major challenge and a serious threat to public health. She said strict and indiscriminate action against illegal medical practitioners and clinics in Murree will continue, and no one will be allowed to endanger human lives.

She also urged citizens to seek treatment only from qualified and registered doctors and licensed healthcare facilities to avoid potential harm.
