Murree admin up for removing encroachment on Mall Road

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Apr, 2026) The Murree administration has finalized arrangements for an anti-encroachment and demolition operation on Mall Road to improve traffic flow and facilitate tourists.

A meeting, chaired by Assistant Commissioner Murree Arshad Iqbal on Tuesday, reviewed operational strategy and inter-departmental coordination.

Officials from WASA, Sui Gas, WAPDA, traffic police, Special Branch and other departments attended the meeting.

A comprehensive traffic management plan was devised to ensure smooth flow of vehicles, provision of alternate routes and minimum inconvenience to residents and tourists during the operation.

DSP Traffic was directed to deploy additional personnel to manage traffic and handle emergencies.

Following the meeting, Arshad Iqbal led a field visit to inspect identified encroachment points and review on-ground arrangements.

He said removal of encroachments from Mall Road, a key commercial and tourist hub, would enhance the area’s beauty and improve facilities for pedestrians and visitors, adding that no negligence would be tolerated in enforcing the law.
