NARAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Apr, 2026) After remaining closed for more than five months, the tourist destination of Naran has been reopened for traffic, bringing welcome news for travelers on Monday.
The National Highway Authority (NHA) cleared the route by cutting through the huge Gorian Glacier located at Naran, restoring traffic flow on the Kaghan Highway up to Naran. Tourists can now once again enjoy the breathtaking views of snow-covered mountains and glaciers.
While talking to APP on the development, NHA Inspector Latif Akbar said that four glaciers from Sangam up to Naran have been successfully cleared.
He further added that heavy machinery is currently operating at Damdama to reopen the road towards Besar, Jalkhad and Babusar Top. “It is expected that the remaining glaciers will be cleared within the next few days,” he said.
He also noted that the reopening of the road and ongoing clearance work will significantly boost tourism in the region, as improved accessibility is likely to attract a large number of visitors in the coming days.
