New prices of essential commodities fixed

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Mar, 2026) The district administration on Monday revised prices of essential commodities across Faisalabad, directing strict compliance with the newly notified rates and warning shopkeepers of legal action in case of overcharging.

Additional Deputy Commissioner General Anwar Ali presided over the meeting of District Price Control Committee in which the new prices were finalized in consultation with stakeholders.

According to the official notification, the price of 20kg flour bag has been fixed at Rs1,810 while 10kg bag will be available at Rs905.

Among pulses, gram pulse (fine) has been set at Rs190 per kg, gram pulse (coarse) at Rs205, masoor pulse (coarse) Rs207, moong (washed) at Rs334, mash (washed) Rs410 and mash (unwashed) Rs352 per kg.

Similarly, white chickpeas (coarse) will be sold at Rs272 per kg, white chickpeas (fine) at Rs210, black chickpeas (coarse) at Rs200 and black chickpeas (fine) at Rs188 per kg.

Rice prices have been fixed at Rs320 per kg for old Kainat, Rs292 for new Kainat and Rs110 per kg for ARI rice while gram flour (besan) will be available at Rs205 per kg.

For dairy and meat in Faisalabad city, milk has been fixed at Rs170 per liter and yogurt at Rs180 per kg, while in other tehsils milk will be sold at Rs160 per liter and yogurt at Rs170 per kg.

The price of mutton has been set at Rs1,800 per kg and beef at Rs900 per kg within the city whereas in other tehsils mutton will be available at Rs1,700 and beef at Rs800 per kg.

Similarly, the prices of tandoori roti (100 grams), khameeri roti, plain naan (120 grams) and roghni naan have been fixed at Rs14, Rs17, Rs18 and Rs45 respectively while ice will be available at Rs7 per kg.

The ADCG directed all shopkeepers to prominently display the official price lists at their outlets, stressing that any violation or profiteering would invite strict legal action.

He further stated that due to transportation costs, an additional Re1 per kg would be allowed on pulses and rice in tehsils Samundri, Tandlianwala, Jaranwala and Chak Jhumra.

The administration is committed to ensure price stability and protect consumers from undue price hikes through continuous monitoring and enforcement, he added.
