Dera Ismail Khan, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Apr, 2026) Regional Police Officer (RPO) Dera Ismail Khan, Ghulam Mubashir Mekan, and RPO Sargodha, Dr. Shahzad Asif, on Sunday conducted a joint visit to the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Motorway M-14 at the inter-provincial boundary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab to review security arrangements.
The visit was carried out in line with the directives of Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Zulfiqar Hameed, with the objective of assessing security measures at the junction of the two provinces and strengthening inter-provincial coordination.
District Police Officer (DPO) Dera Ismail Khan, Ziauddin Ahmed, DPO Mianwali, Waqar Azeem, DPO Lakki Marwat, Nazir Khan, along with senior officials including Superintendent of Police (SP) Motorway Ateeq Khan, Counter Terrorism Department, Dera Region-I SP Iftikhar Ali Shah, SP Paharpur Iqbal Khan, Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs), and other concerned officers were also present on the occasion.
During the visit, the RPOs inspected various security points along the motorway and reviewed deployment of personnel, response mechanisms, and overall security arrangements in detail.
Speaking on the occasion, the officers emphasized that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was the economic lifeline of the country and ensuring its security was a national responsibility, adding that no compromise would be made in this regard.
They agreed to further enhance intelligence-based operations against terrorists and criminal elements in and around the motorway, stressing that effective coordination, joint strategies, and integrated operations between Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police would help strengthen peace and stability in the region.
The RPOs also interacted with police personnel on duty, reviewed their residential facilities, mess arrangements, and operational challenges, and issued on-the-spot directives for improvement. They appreciated the dedication and morale of the personnel, reiterating that safeguarding the CPEC Motorway was a collective national duty being fulfilled with commitment by the security forces.
