Notorious dacoit Ahmad Bukhraani surrenders in joint operation

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Apr, 2026) In a major breakthrough, Punjab Police Rahim Yar Khan, in coordination with Military Intelligence, secured the surrender of most-wanted dacoit Ahmad Bukhraani, who carried a head money of Rs10 million, during an operation in the Katcha area.

According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, the accused laid down his arms due to sustained pressure, effective strategy, and coordinated actions by law enforcement agencies. The Government of Punjab had earlier announced a bounty of Rs10 million for his arrest.

District Police Officer Rahim Yar Khan Irfan Ali Samo said that so far 24 high-profile dacoits carrying head money had surrendered.

He added that during ongoing Katcha operations, 66 dangerous dacoits had been killed, 101 arrested in injured condition, while 320 had surrendered. He said that the operation would continue without interruption until the arrest or surrender of the last dacoit, ensuring the writ of the state at all costs.

Inspector General of Punjab Police Abdul Kareem commended Rahim Yar Khan Police on the successful surrender and directed that operations against Katcha criminals be further accelerated. He reiterated that indiscriminate action against criminal elements would continue to ensure protection of life and property of citizens.
