Notorious fugitive killed in police shootout

NOWSHERA VIRKAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Apr, 2026) A notorious proclaimed offender wanted in 27 criminal cases on Tuesday was killed in a police encounter in the jurisdiction of Ladhaywala Warraich police station, the police sources said.

They said the police were conducting a checkpoint operation when they signalled a suspect, identified as Kashif alias Kashi, a resident of Mandi Bahauddin, to stop. Instead, he allegedly opened fire on the police and attempted to flee.

In the ensuing exchange of gunfire, the suspect was killed by the police operating under the command of Station House Officer Muhammad Afzal Gujjar.

The sources said the suspect as a symbol of fear in the area due to his alleged involvement in multiple serious crimes.
