CHINIOT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Mar, 2026) On the instructions of District Police Officer (DPO), Dr. Naveed Atif, a full-scale crackdown against drug peddlers is underway across the district.

In the past one month, the police had arrested 53 drug peddlers from different areas and hashish over 28 Kgs, heroin 2 Kgs , opium 2 Kgs, liquor 822 liters were recovered from their possessions.

The cases had been registered against the accused and further investigation was underway, the police spokesman said.

District Police Officer Dr. Naveed Atif said that practical steps were being taken across the district to save young generations from the scourge of drugs.

While ensuring quality investigation of drug cases, the accused are being punished, he added.

He further said that public cooperation was very important for the complete eradication of drugs in the district.
