Over 1,500 police personnel deployed on Easter security:

SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Apr, 2026) The District Police, on the special directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Sohaib Ashraf, on Sunday deployed more than 1,500 police officers and personnel to ensure foolproof security for the Christian community during the religious festival of Easter.

According to a press release issued by DPO office,the Superintendent Police Investigation Imran Abbas Chadhar visited various churches across the district to review the security arrangements and instructed the on-duty personnel to maintain a high level of vigilance and strict monitoring of worship places.

A comprehensive "three-layer security" plan had been implemented for all small and large churches, requiring every visitor to undergo body searches with metal detectors and pass through walk-through gates.

All major churches were being continuously monitored through CCTV cameras, while the police control room remains functional 24 hours a day to coordinate security efforts.

Additionally, traffic police personnel were stationed around the vicinity of churches to maintain the smooth flow of traffic during the celebrations.

The DPO Muhammad Sohaib Ashraf stated that the protection of the Christian community’s worship places is a top priority, warning that any negligence in duty would not be tolerated and personnel must remain alert to suspicious individuals or unclaimed items.
