Over 30,000 suspects and vehicles screened through E-Police posts in Chiniot

CHINIOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Jun, 2026) In line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to strengthen public safety through modern policing, Chiniot Police have intensified surveillance and crime-control efforts by utilizing technologically equipped e-police posts across the district.

According to official figures, police screened 14,705 suspicious individuals and 15,859 vehicles through the E-Police Post App during the month of May as part of a comprehensive campaign against criminal activities. The digital monitoring system has enabled law enforcement agencies to conduct swift verification and tracking of suspects, enhancing operational efficiency and public security.

During the month-long crackdown, police arrested five proclaimed offenders and one court absconder while checking suspicious individuals at various locations.

Authorities said the use of modern technology is helping police identify and apprehend wanted criminals more effectively, thereby strengthening the district’s law-and-order framework.

District Police Officer Chiniot, Dr. Naveed Atif,while exclusively talking to APP on Sunday, said practical measures are being implemented throughout the district to safeguard the lives and property of citizens. He emphasized that law enforcement agencies are making optimum use of modern technology to accelerate action against criminal elements and reiterated the police department’s commitment to ensuring public safety through all available resources.
