Pakistan clinch bronze medal with 3-0 win over Malaysia

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Jun, 2026) Pakistan defeated Malaysia 3-0 to win the bronze medal in the 3rd/4th place playoff of the U-18 Asia Cup 2026, organized by the Asian Hockey Federation, at Kakamigahara, Japan.

According to details, for Pakistan, Uzair Ahmed opened the scoring early in the match from a penalty corner. Aisam Haider then converted a penalty stroke in the 23rd minute to double the lead.

Adeel sealed the win with Pakistan’s third and final goal in the closing moments of the game. Malaysia were unable to score until the final whistle.

Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) President Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani congratulated the national U-18 hockey team on their outstanding performance and third-place finish at the Asia Cup in Japan. He expressed hope that these young heroes will continue to raise Pakistan’s name high in the future.
